Welcome to the 42nd Mid-continent Paleobotanical Colloquium at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut (May 17-18, 2025). Continuing the long tradition at MPC, we look forward to an energizing day of talks and posters on Saturday the 17th and an optional field trip to the completely renovated Yale Peabody Museum on Sunday the 18th. We are particularly interested in supporting student presentations: MPC is a friendly, low-stakes environment for first-time presenters.
The nearest airports are Hartford (BDL) and New Haven (HVN), both about 30 minutes away. The nearest Amtrak station from the south is New Haven and Meriden from the north. Most of these options require a cab/uber or car rental to get to Middletown. The only public transportation option is BUS 590 ($1.75), which runs from Meriden Station to William & High Street, located right next to Usdan at Wesleyan University. On Sunday the 18th, we plan to leave the Peabody Museum at 2 pm; if you are flying, we recommend departing after 6 pm, unless you plan to take a cab or drive a rental car directly from the museum. Please reach out to Dana Royer or Xiaoqing Zhang with any questions. We look forward to seeing you in May!
